A motorist has been given driving tips by emergency service workers after their car left the road and splashed into a lake.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to Watermead Country Park, off the A607, just before 17:10 GMT on Monday.

When they arrived, the driver had already exited the vehicle uninjured and was "given some advice from crews and police on scene".

A spokesperson said: "When driving and leaving a major road, ensure you have slowed down sufficiently to take the corner on to the minor road safely."

The car was left with the owner for recovery services to remove it from the water just after 17:30.
