A "predatory offender" has been jailed for sexually abusing two children in Oxford.

Oliver Cosh, who "used threats of violence" to stop his victims speaking out, was jailed for nine years at Oxford Crown Court on 26 June.

The 36-year-old, of Wensum Crescent, Bicester, was convicted of six counts of sexual assault with a child under 13 by touching and one count of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, following a week-long trial at the same court in April.

He was also placed the Sex Offenders Register for life and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Thames Valley Police said Cosh abused two victims, one aged eight and the other when they were aged 10 and 11.

Det Con James Boden, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: "Cosh is a predatory offender whose actions represent a shocking exploitation of two vulnerable children.

"He used threats of violence to suppress their disclosures, further compounding the seriousness of his offences."

Boden, commended Cosh's victims for the immense courage and resilience they have shown throughout the investigation.

He added Cosh failed to take any responsibility for his actions.
