Decision to be made over Sark Electricity assets
BBCThe Chief Pleas has submitted a loan facility agreement to enable the purchase of Sark Electricity Ltd (SEL) assets.
The Chief Pleas of Sark Committee Office said it would decide whether to enter into a loan facility agreement with the States of Guernsey.
It said the papers set out all the key details of the loan facility including the exact rate calculation, drawdown conditions and repayment terms.
The decision will be made on 8 April.
It said the compulsory purchase would secure Sark's energy future for "generations to come".
The papers said: "It will allow the island to determine its own direction, and it will ensure that our energy infrastructure is safe, reliable, sustainable and meets the current and future needs of our residents and businesses."
It added the purchase would enable the island to plan the transition towards a "modern and sustainable energy system".
