Four men have been arrested after a fight in Beverley involving hammers and knives, police said.

Humberside Police was called to Coltman Avenue at 11:30 BST on Monday to a reported incident involving four men who allegedly fled the scene in a car.

A 22-year-old man was found on Coltman Avenue and treated in hospital for minor injuries before being arrested on suspicion of affray.

Two 23-year-old men and a 38-year-old man were later detained by armed police on Quayle's Mews, Hornsea, and arrested on suspicion of affray. All four have been released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.

Police said the men were believed to be known to each other.
