Cameron Emery and Joanne Blythe are the first Restore Britain members on West Northamptonshire Council

Two former Reform UK councillors have joined Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain party.

Cameron Emery and Joanne Blythe, who left the party earlier this year, were revealed in a social media post on X, just as a full West Northamptonshire Council meeting began.

Both councillors were elected to represent Headlands ward on the authority in May 2025.

Emery said: "We're not here to make headline news, we're here to serve the residents in West Northamptonshire."

In a statement, a Reform spokesman said: "Cameron Emery has been expelled from Reform with immediate effect after learning that he planned to betray his electors and the mandate he was given in order to affiliate with another party.

"Reform has a zero tolerance approach to those who plot to betray the hard-working members that got them elected in the first place."

Emery disputed that he had been expelled, sharing with the BBC an e-mail to notify of a change of political group status, sent 20 minutes before the Reform expulsion statement.

Blythe said she left Reform earlier in the year after becoming "disillusioned" with the local party.

The Reform group on West Northamptonshire Council is now down to 39 out of 76 councillors.

The group is also down one member who was granted a leave of absence from attending meetings until November 2026 for reasons of ill health.
