M6 lorry crash forced overnight closure
National HighwaysThe M6 has fully reopened after a lorry crashed into the central reservation barrier and overturned on Sunday.
The crash happened shortly before 17:00 BST, with the closure in both directions between junction one near Rugby and the Catthorpe interchange in Leicestershire, National Highways said.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended the scene and highways officers assisted with traffic management.
At about 11:30 BST on Monday, National Highways confirmed the northbound stretch between the M1/A14 junction and junction one of the M6 had reopened. It stated about three hours earlier that the southbound carriageway was again in use.
In the early hours National Highways had said a police investigation and recovery works were ongoing and there were delays of half an hour and two miles of congestion southbound.

Police sought to relieve congestion by turning vehicles around from the rear of the queue and helping motorists leave the affected area.
Diversion routes were put in place for those travelling on the A14 westbound, the M1 northbound and the M6 southbound.
After the affected stretch re-opened, National Highways thanked people for their patience and said the road surface was "planned to be resurfaced overnight" on Monday.
