A gang of men who tried to steal a cash machine from a petrol station caused significant damage, police have said.

West Yorkshire Police said they had received a report of men trying to take the cash machine from outside Denbrook Filling Station in Tong Street at about 21:20 GMT on Monday.

Officers said no injuries were reported and it is not believed that any cash was taken.

Police urged anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
