Charge after shooting leaves boy critically injured
BBCA 17-year-old boy charged with the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy, who was left with life-threatening injuries when he was shot, has appeared in court.
West Midlands Police said the victim remained in a critical condition in hospital after the attack in Bowyer Road, Alum Rock, Birmingham, shortly before 17:30 BST on Wednesday.
The force said the 17-year-old was also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He was remanded into a youth detention centre after appearing before magistrates on Friday and is expected to next appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 31 July.
Det Insp Francis Nock said: "Our investigation is continuing and I would urge anyone who might have seen something or has dashcam or doorbell footage to get in touch.
"Officers will remain in the area today to offer reassurance to the local community."
