Pedestrian injured as bus crashes into building

A pedestrian and bus driver were injured when the H98 service crashed into a building in west London on Friday evening.

It happened on Station Road near Hayes and Harlington station at about 19:30 BST.

A video circulating on social media appears to show the bus driving on to a mini-roundabout, looping around and crashing into a building. A man was treated at the scene but not taken to hospital.

A First Bus spokesperson said there were no passengers on board, the bus driver sustained minor injuries, and the company was awaiting updates on the occupants of the other vehicle in the collision.

Transport for London said the bus service had been curtailed before the incident, but was unable to provide further details about why.

A TfL spokesperson said safety was their top priority and they and operator, First Bus, were assisting the police.

The building sustained damage, which has been confirmed as non-structural, the spokesperson said.
