Organ donation group seeks two more volunteers

Islanders with an interest in healthcare are being urged to consider joining a group dedicated to organ donation.

Health and Social Care is looking for two volunteers to join its Organ Donation Committee, which supports and promotes the choice to help save or transform another's life.

The committee said it is particularly keen to hear from applicants who think strategically, communicate effectively and work collaboratively.

John Eaton, lead nurse for acute and critical care and a member of the committee, said: "You do not need a clinical background to make a valuable contribution and we would encourage anyone interested to consider applying."

He said: "Organ donation can make a life-changing difference for patients and their families.

"Our Organ Donation Committee helps ensure we continue to promote awareness, learn from experience and support best practice across our services.

"We are keen to hear from people who can bring fresh perspectives, professional expertise and a genuine interest in healthcare."
