Pedestrian hit by car treated for serious injuries

A man is being treated for serious injuries after being hit by a car in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said the pedestrian was struck by the car in Surrey Street, off Ashbourne Road, at about 09:15 GMT on Thursday.

Paramedics and air ambulance crews were called to the scene and treated the man for his injuries.

The road has been closed and a number of officers remain at the scene while an investigation continues.
