Motorcyclist dies after collision with van

A biker has died and his passenger left seriously injured after a collision with a van.

North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened between Stapleton and Barton, in Richmondshire, on 26 June.

The green Kawasaki motorcycle and white Vauxhall Vivaro van collided on Stapleton Bank at the junction of Cleasby Lane.

The rider, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Police said the driver of the van is assisting officers with their enquiries and the force has appealed for witnesses.
