A 74-year-old man who collapsed in the street after feeling unwell has praised the actions of two teenage rescuers who got him to hospital.

Nick Peacey was waiting for a bus after attending Cardiff's Tafwyl festival when he collapsed outside Cardiff Castle last Sunday night.

Josh and Taylor, both 15, were passing by and went to Peacey's aid as he drifted in and out of consciousness.

They gave him water and called for an ambulance, only to be told it could be a while before paramedics arrived.

Others also helped at the bus stop until the vehicle had to leave so the pair waited with him for an hour and a half before Taylor decided to call his mum to take Peacey to hospital.

"I want these two boys to get some kind of reward or honour," said Peacey from Church Village, Rhondda Cynon Taf, who has been undergoing tests since being released from University Hospital Wales on Monday.

"They were brilliant - and there's a lot of bad press about young boys," he told BBC Radio Wales Breakfast with the trio reuniting in the studio in Cardiff's Central Square.

Josh explained how he saw Peacey collapse so "ran over" and used his jacket to support Peacey's head.

He said he put him in the recovery position while Taylor went for help but, although he couldn't find a medic, a festival security guard also tried to help and called 999 for them.

"It would be just wrong if I'd left him there," recalled Josh.

"It feels wrong to see someone injured or need support and not have it."
