Fire destroys house on outskirts of Inverness

A fire has torn through a house on the outskirts of Inverness destroying the property.

Fire crews were alerted to the blaze at Viewhill Meadows in Balloch at about 14:40.

By 19:45 the roof of the property was completely destroyed and a large portion of the building had crumbled to the ground.

Two fire engines and a height appliance remain at the scene. The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
