Four charged with kidnap of man in town

Four people have been charged with the kidnap of a man in Ilkeston.

Derbyshire Police said a man, in his 20s, was taken away against his will in Bridge Street in the town on 30 July but was later "safely located".

Kien Rigley, 23, of Barlborough Road, Ilkeston, Kainan Wilson, 21, of Market Street, Ironville, Nottinghamshire, Zabed Miah, 24, of Wilton Street, Ilkeston, and Lewis Birks-Iacovitti, 24, of Rossell Drive, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, have been charged with kidnap and assault ABH, police added.

They appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Saturday, and have been remanded in custody to appear at Derby Crown Court on 28 August, the force said.

Wilson is also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

Miah is facing a second charge of assault ABH relating to a separate incident on 17 July, police said.
