Driver dies in collision with stationary car

A man has died after the car he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police said the 81-year-old man had been driving a white Vauxhall Combo along Holme Lane, in Hillsborough, when it hit a blue Hyundai i10.

The force said the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at about 14.25 GMT on Tuesday.

Officers investigating the collision have appealed for any witnesses of anyone with relevant dash cam or CCTV footage to come forward.
