Stornoway Post Office branch to relocate to Co-op
BBCThe Post Office has agreed to move its Stornoway branch to a Co-op shop in the Lewis town.
The store in Macaulay Road has recently been refurbished.
Last year, the Post Office announced it was offloading the last of the branches it owned and moving to a fully franchised network.
The Stornoway branch at Francis Street became a franchise in November.
The Stornoway shop is the Co-op Group's largest store and employs 100 people. It is less than a mile from the current Post Office branch.
Under the proposals, the Post Office said the same services as before would be available, with fully-trained staff and opening hours unchanged.
A consultation on the relocation closed on 3 June.
