Thousands of people have joined in festivities marking two decades of a city's Pride events.

The festival and parade, which celebrates the LGBTQ+community, is held in Hanley Park in Stoke-on-Trent.

Chair Carl Gratty said it was an opportunity for the city to get together, "no matter what race, gender, sexuality or feelings you have".

The event has been getting bigger every year, he added, "so we're so proud of what we've achieved." The event on Saturday involved more than 140 stalls, including arts and crafts, music and entertainment.

Two participants are dressed in bright green military outfits, their glasses and faces are also coloured green and one is holding a loud haler the other a toy machine gun.
