Plans to convert old offices into flats submitted
GoogleVacant office space on Wearside could be replaced with new flats, under plans submitted to a council.
Sunderland City Council has received an application to create two maisonettes in a block on Gleneagles Road in Grindon.
The development aims to change the upper floors of the terrace site, which sits at the end of a business unit block and close to residential properties.
A decision is set to be made by the end of January following a consultation, although the scheme is not opposed by the council's enviromental health and highways departments.
Each flat would offer three bedrooms arranged over two floors, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
There would be no dedicated parking for the homes but the council's future transport team said there were spaces nearby.
