A suspected shoplifter was arrested after officers spotted him wearing two right shoes.

Thames Valley Police were on patrol in the centre of Milton Keynes and said they detained the man on suspicion of two shoplifting offences.

During the arrest, officers also recovered a Dolce & Gabbana fragrance tester, which they believe may have been stolen.

In a post on social media, the force said: "It turns out that two rights does make a wrong and trying to smell nice won't cover up poor decisions."

The man remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
