La Voix improvised Queen Vic scenes in EastEnders
BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarronDrag queen La Voix improvised parts of her performance in tonight's episode of EastEnders.
The Buckinghamshire-based entertainer, known for her appearances on RuPaul's Drag Race UK and Strictly Come Dancing, features in an episode celebrating Pride in Walford.
After playing herself in scenes filmed at studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, La Voix said she was encouraged to go off script.
She said: "They set up multiple cameras, four cameras around the Queen Vic, and they said just improvise for 20 minutes of stand-up and roasting the audience."
The footage will be edited together to show the drag star "doing what I would do as La Voix but in the Queen Vic".
BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarronThe storyline sees La Voix invited to perform at the Prince Albert - Walford's LGBTQ+ bar - but she is tricked into performing at the Queen Vic instead.
She said her nerves in taking part were put at ease when she was reunited with friends Harriet Thorpe, who plays Elaine Peacock, and Michelle Collins, who plays Cindy Beale.
La Voix explained: "It really helped get rid of the nerves because the speed of that filming was relentless.
"I mean, there is no 'hello, nice to meet everyone, let's have coffee and chat', oh, no.
"All of a sudden, I'm standing next to Big Mo and Zoe in the Vic, and I'm like, 'Oh my god, I'm running lines to camera on EastEnders, this is bonkers!'"
