A busy dual carriageway was closed for five hours after a car hit a telegraph pole.

Suffolk Police said the A12 at Blythburgh was shut at about 05:15 BST on Tuesday.

It happened by the White Hart pub and traffic had to be diverted because cables were lying across the road, the force added.

In a post on X, the force said the road had been fully reopened at about 10:14.
