Two teenagers accused of murdering a 15-year-old boy "lured" him to a secluded spot and attacked him with "severe force" in a row over money, a court has heard.

Luis Guembes died of his injuries in Guildford's Stoke Park in January, having been stabbed in the head, shoulder and lower back - the latter fatally piercing his stomach, severing his left kidney and hitting his spine.

The prosecution told Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday that the defendants had "agreed to rob" Guembes in order to settle "a debt he owed concerning a broken mobile phone".

The defendants - 15 and 16 at the time, but now both 16 - deny murder.

The pair, who can't be named due to their age, also face charges of conspiracy to rob and possession of a bladed article, to which one of them has pleaded guilty.

Julian Evans, prosecuting, alleged that the two defendants were armed with a knife on the evening of 19 January - one meeting Guembes in Guildford before walking with him to Stoke Park where the second defendant was waiting.

"Luis thought he was going to rob another boy, but that was fiction," said Evans.

"It was a ruse concocted to lure him to the park."

'I stabbed him, bro'

He added that Guembes had been unarmed and had tried to fight back, despite being outnumbered.

His attackers were then said to have fled the scene in different directions, returning to their home addresses where they made no attempt to summon medical help, the court heard.

Guembes was eventually discovered by members of the public who called 999.

Emergency services arrived, but, despite their best efforts, he died at the scene, the jury was told.

The court was also shown a video message allegedly made by one of the defendants a "matter of minutes" after the attack, describing what had happened and how Guembes had fought back.

"I stabbed him, bro, and I think [the other defendant] did as well," went the recording.

"Literally could not have gone worse."

The trial continues.
