Man's arm and hand 'significantly' injured in Lisburn assault

Police are appealing for information following an assault in Lisburn.

A man in his 30s has been injured after being assaulted with a blunt weapon in Lisburn.

It happened at about 2:00 BST in Jubilee Avenue on Saturday.

The man had significant injuries to his arm and hand, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

One man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon.

The man remains in custody.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
