Boy, 3, dies after falling into pond

A three-year-old boy has died after falling into a pond.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Brownmoor Lane in Crosby at about 21:43 BST on Saturday, Merseyside Police said.

The force said the boy was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The child's death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Our officers continue to support the family and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened," it said.

North West Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
