Boy, 16, charged after four viable devices found in security alert

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with possessing explosives in suspicious circumstances and possession of prohibited weapons following a security alert in Omagh on Monday.

Police said four viable explosive devices were found during the search of a property in the Gardenville Avenue area and removed for forensic examination.

A number of homes were evacuated during the incident.

The teenager is expected to appear at Dungannon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
