A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after several vehicles received "significant damage" after being crashed into.

Guernsey Police said officers received reports on Sunday of three parked vehicles being hit on St George's Esplanade, which led to a road closure while initial inquiries took place.

The force said it is believed the motorist involved in the collisions fled the scene.

A Facebook post from police said a 34-year-old man had been arrested on Monday in connection with the incident and investigations were ongoing.
