Beyond the headliners at Boardmasters
BoardmastersMore than 46,000 music fans are expected at Watergate Bay for this year's Boardmasters festival, where about 90 artists will perform across the weekend.
The festival features headline acts including Mercury Prize nominee Loyle Carner, Joy Crookes and Brit Award-nominated jungle artist Nia Archives.
All three received support from BBC Introducing early in their careers through radio airplay and festival opportunities before reaching wider audiences.
This year, BBC Introducing, which supports unsigned and emerging artists, has worked with Boardmasters to help curate part of The View stage line-up.
Here are a few of the artists you could see from the South West.
Essy Sparrow
Theodore van DuinThe winner of the inaugural Boardmasters Breaking competition, Essy Sparrow, will be opening up the main stage on the Sunday.
BBC Introducing in the South West selected Essy Sparrow out of nearly 700 artists to become the first ever winner of the competition.
Sparrow's coastal indie-folk sound has managed to appeal to nearly 38,000 combined followers across her social media, building a reputation for authentic songwriting and a DIY attitude to creating a career in music.
She said her music was about showing "brilliant artistry does not have to just come from the city".
Sparrow added: "I grew up in the South West, so to get to play the main stage at a major festival just half-an-hour from my home is wild to me."
Abbie Piper
Toby PiperCornwall's own Abbie Piper released her debut EP Mirror Talk earlier this year and managed to claim back-to-back tracks of the week on BBC Introducing in the South West.
Drawing comparisons to artists such as Amy Winehouse and Joy Crookes, Piper's signature vocals will likely draw a crowd.
Despite only beginning to upload her music towards the end of last year, Piper has received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and will be making her homecoming to the festival after performing as a teenager more than a decade ago.
Peri Rae
Maximilliaan van EsPeri Rae was a late addition to the line-up, receiving the call up just a week before the festival kicked off.
Rae has returned to releasing music this year with a new sound; leaning more towards heavier and more gritty work.
Over the last few months, teaser clips for her latest release have generated more than one million views across social media.
An anthem about being a woman in surf culture drew hundreds of comments from women sharing their own experiences in the line-up.
Rae said: "What started as a fun, rebellious anthem has become a conversation about belonging, confidence and taking up space."
Peri Rae will return to Watergate Bay, having performed two years ago on The View stage in what she called "the biggest moment of her career so far".
