A teenager with cerebral palsy says she is "nervous and scared" but "excited" to be taking on a charity cycling challenge from Land's End to John O'Groats.

Chloe Marriage, 17, from Newbury, sets off on her journey on 26 July and is expected to complete the 1,000-plus mile ride on 12 August.

Her dad Tom said his daughter was the "driving force" for the idea after asking "can I do that" when she saw a video of him doing the same journey 19 years ago.

Chloe said: "People think I'm crazy - I'm going to be tired, and I don't like getting up early in the morning for training sessions but once I am on the bike it feels amazing."

Chloe begins her charity ride on 26 July and is expected to take more than two weeks to complete the journey

Averaging 50 miles a day, she will be joined by her dad and brothers Nicko, 19, and William, 15.

A specially designed bike is being used by Chloe. She sits on the front, but will pedal, and her dad will sit on the back controlling the steering and the gears.

Mum Alex will be in a van providing food along the way, accompanied by the family's labrador.

Chloe Marriage will cycle more than 1,000 miles to raise money for two charities

Tom said: "It represents how far our family has come. For my wife and I, to be doing this together, with all three of our children feels incredibly special."

They are raising money for two charities chosen by Chloe - her school, Treloar's, and Partners For Active Living Scheme (PALS west Berkshire), both of which have supported her over the years.

Beyond fundraising, the family hopes the ride will raise awareness of disability inclusion, adapted sport and the life-changing power of family.
