Motorcyclist, 29, killed in crash with van

A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a van on a rural road in Calderdale.

Police were called to Saddleworth Road, in Greetland, to reports of a collision between a Fiat Ducato van and a Yamaha MT motorcycle at the junction with Gate Head Lane shortly after 10:00 BST.

The motorcyclist, a 29-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene, West Yorkshire Police said. His family have been informed.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail, with officers appealing for witnesses, or anyone with footage of the incident, to get in touch.
