A teenage girl was left needing hospital treatment after being assaulted at a party in Sheffield, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Officers attended a property on St Mary's Road after being contacted by Yorkshire Ambulance Service at about 22:40 GMT on Friday, a force spokesperson said.

It was reported that a 16-year-old girl had been attacked during what was believed to have been a Halloween party and she had been left with minor injuries.

Further reports of a disturbance at the same property had also been received and it was claimed a large group of people had damaged a flat before officers attended and dispersed the crowd, the spokesperson said.

No one was hurt in that incident and an investigation had been launched, they added.
