Attempted murder arrest after hit-and-run
GoogleA teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an alleged hit-and-run in Bristol, police say.
Emergency services were called to Oxford Place in Easton at about 11:00 BST on Friday after a man in his 20s was hit by a car that police said failed to stop.
Avon and Somerset Police said: "A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and three people – aged in their twenties to fifties – have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender."
The force said the man is still being treated for life-threatening injuries, while a second man sustained minor injuries.
Police said the collision happened following an altercation between two groups of men.
The two men are believed to have arrived in a silver Seat Leon before getting out and being hit by a black Mini Cooper, which then drove away towards Stapleton Road and St Marks Road.
"We believe this to be an isolated incident and do not consider there to be any wider risk to the public," they said.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, including anyone who saw a 08 registration black Mini Cooper on Friday afternoon in east Bristol.
