Body found in search for man missing in River Tay
Stuart CowperA body has been found during the search for a 27-year-old man who went missing in the River Tay.
Emergency services including police divers launched a search around Moncreiffe Island after three men got into difficulty in the water at about 19:45 on Thursday.
Two of the men were traced and checked over by paramedics.
Police said on Friday evening that the body of a man had been recovered following a search of the water and inquiries were ongoing to establish his identity.
Emergency crews remain at the scene.
Tay Street was closed for a time in both directions from Marshall Place to Canal Street, but since been reopened.
The search had also involved mountain rescue volunteers, an air support unit and firefighters.
Stuart CowperThe river was searched on Thursday night with fire crews on boats as well as a local jet-skier assisting.
There were searches on foot on Moncreiffe Island and along the riverbank with police search teams using a viewer to look under the water.
