Two arrested after £360,000 cannabis haul uncovered

More than 600 cannabis plants were found in the property in Newton Stewart

Two men have been arrested and charged after drugs worth more than £360,000 were found in a south of Scotland town.

Officers discovered the cannabis during a search of a property on Victoria Street in Newton Stewart at about 11:00 on Tuesday.

Police Scotland said 614 plants had been recovered with an estimated street value of £368,400.

The force added that two men - aged 37 and 22 - were due to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court.
