Police given more time to question murder suspects

Police have been granted further time to question a man and a teenage boy on suspicion of murder.

Police received reports of a stabbing in Brooklands Road in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, at about 23:20 BST on Thursday.

A 26-year-old man died at the scene and has not yet been formally identified.

Thames Valley Police has been granted extra time to keep in custody a 16-year-old boy from Milton Keynes and a man, 36, from Aylesbury. A third suspect, a 25-year-old man from Milton Keynes, has been released facing no further action.

A cordoned off crime scene area on Brooklands Road was expected to remain in place for some time, police said.

Det Supt Jon Capps said the investigation remained in the early stages of a "complex and fast-moving murder investigation".

He urged people not to speculate to "avoid further distress to his family".
