A public exhibition of updated plans for 8,500 new homes in Kent will take place later in June.

The Otterpool Park proposal was given planning approval in 2023 but the developer said "several elements have progressed", adding that they intend to submit updated information to Folkestone & Hythe District Council as part of the planning process.

The exhibition of the proposed next steps for the new garden town, near Hythe, and will be held on 24 June.

Paula Hirst, chair of Otterpool Park LLP's board, said updating the planning application ensured it reflected "the latest evidence and best practice".

She added: "The exhibition will give people a clear view of what's changed, what hasn't and how we're preparing to deliver the first homes."

Otterpool Park LLP was set up in May 2020 by the district council to deliver the project.

Council leader Jim Martin said: "We are pleased that progress is continuing at Otterpool Park and this exhibition is a valuable chance for residents to understand how the project is responding to new guidance, information and the needs of the district."

The public exhibition will take place at Sellindge Village Hall between 14:30 and 20:00 BST on 24 June.

From 25 June, updated information will be available online for people unable to attend in person.
