A 31-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder in Edinburgh in connection with a gangland feud.

John Moore, of North Lanarkshire, made no plea to three charges of wilful fire-raising, danger to life and attempted murder, and one charge of reset at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

Reset involves possessing property knowingly acquired by theft.

The incidents took place on Niddrie Marischal Crescent, Pitcairn Grove and Prestonfield Crescent on 17 April.

He was granted bail and will appear again at a later date.

Operation Portaledge

It brings the total number of arrests under Operation Portaledge to 63.

Operation Portaledge was launched after a series of violent incidents earlier this year.

The feud has led to assaults, shootings and fire bombings across the east and west of Scotland.
