An army bomb disposal unit was sent to Highbridge recycling centre

A recycling centre which shut after a suspected explosive device was found has reopened, police said.

Avon and Somerset Police was called to Highbridge recycling centre, in Somerset, at around 10:20 BST on Saturday following reports of suspected ordnance.

A spokesperson said a military bomb disposal team was sent to the area, but confirmed it was not an explosive.

The force closed the site "as a precaution" and it reopened at around 14:45 BST.
