A wooden throne has been unveiled after a community raised funds in memory of a seven-year-old girl.

Sofia Le Brunn-Healey's parents started The Bluebell Circle and began fundraising after she died from a rare brain tumour in 2025.

The organisation raised about £50,000, which has helped start work on an outdoor community space in Halling, Kent that includes Sofia's Throne.

"In the most tragic of circumstances these people have come together around us to really support us," her father Rob Le Brunn-Healey told the BBC.

Sofia was diagnosed with her brain tumour in 2023, aged five.

The throne was unveiled on Sunday after a community march and speeches at an event in Halling celebrating her life.

Liz Maclaren, a nurse who helped look after Sofia in hospital, said the event was "incredible" and "such a beautiful thing to see".

"You couldn't help falling in love with Sofia, she was magic," she told the BBC.

"To see this in her memory, it's really special."

Family say they will continue the raise money for further work to the riverside area surrounding the wooden throne.

Alyce Le Brunn-Healey said: "Sofia was a local girl here, people knew her, they loved her.

"This is something they couldn't help but get behind and they also wanted to carry us through our grief."
