Plans for 221 homes near village to be decided
GooglePlans to build up to 221 homes on land north of a village in Leicestershire are set to be decided.
Charnwood Borough Council's plans committee is recommended to approve a planning application on Thursday to build the development north of Willow Road, Barrow upon Soar.
According to planning documents, 66 homes in the proposed development would be classed as affordable.
A report prepared for councillors details land for a new primary school would also be provided.
The application has received 27 objections which raised concerns including local services being "over capacity".
The application is subject to a section 106 legal agreement in which the developer would pay towards services in the area, including a contribution of more than £3.2m towards a primary school.
The report prepared for councillors stated: "The development would deliver substantial benefits, including affordable and market housing, land and funding for a new primary school, and contributions to local infrastructure.
"These benefits carry significant weight in the planning balance and, overall, support the case for granting outline planning permission."
