Cargo ship docks after running aground
Martin Emmerson/BBCA cargo ship ran aground at the entrance to a harbour.
The Cellus, which had sailed from Brünsbuttel in Germany, came to halt just after it passed through the piers in Sunderland, blocking the entrance to the port and the River Wear on Friday morning.
Tugs from the Tees and Tyne were sent to re-float the 100-metre long vessel, which was said to be transporting paper products, and it later docked at Greenwell's Quay in the port.
The Port of Sunderland said there were no reports of pollution and no injuries to those on board.
