Man seriously injured and robbed in Dumfries attack

Detectives have appealed for information after a man was seriously assaulted and robbed in Dumfries.

The 33-year-old man was approached by another man on Glasgow Road near Cuckoo Bridge between 05:00 and 06:30 on Sunday.

He was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police said his attacker was about 40 years old.
