'Crazy Line' heroin and crack gang jailed
Lancashire PoliceFour members of a drugs gang which "brought misery to many" peddling heroin and crack cocaine in east Lancashire have been jailed, police said.
Saeed Aziz, 25, of Whalley Street, Burnley - the head of the so called 'Crazy' line drugs gang - was jailed at Preston Crown Court for 10 years and nine months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine.
At the hearing on 5 June, the three others also sentenced were Uzair Nazir, 24, of Milner Street, Burnley, Corey Young, 20, of no fixed address, and Mohammed Haroon, 24, of Lindsay Street, Burnley.
They had also admitted conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine.
Nazir was jailed for five years and five months, while Young was jailed for four years and six months and Haroon for two years and six months.
Speaking after the hearing, Det Sgt Stu Peall said: "This gang brought misery to many through their evil trade of peddling drugs on our streets but thanks to our efforts are now behind bars.
"We will continue to tackle those who bring harm to our communities by dealing in illegal drugs by dismantling these gangs and putting those involved before the courts."
Lancashire PoliceA Lancashire Police spokesperson said the gang had supplied heroin and crack cocaine over a number of years but were dismantled following an investigation by the force.
The investigation was launched after Aziz was found at an address on Travis Street in Burnley in December 2021, along with weapons, drugs and cash, they added.
Forensic examination identified the drugs as 10 packages of heroin and 14 packages of crack cocaine.
Further enquiries carried out as part of the force's Operation Brimstone identified other members of the same gang.
