Fire started 'deliberately' in High Street building

A fire in a derelict building was started deliberately, according to the fire service.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said it received a report of a fire at about 19:00 BST on Sunday on High Street in Harwich.

About 25 fire crews were sent to tackle the blaze and neighbouring flats had to be evacuated as a precautionary measure.

A spokesperson for the service urged anyone with information to come forward.
