A man has been arrested as part of an investigation into reports two teenage girls were sexually assaulted in Nottingham city centre.

Nottinghamshire Police said the assaults were believed to have happened at about 23:00 BST on 4 June in the Old Market Square area.

The force said one of the victims was reportedly raped in Norfolk Place and the other was sexually assaulted in Old Market Square.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of rape and remained in custody, police said.

Both girls have been supported by specialist officers, the force said.
