Van driver seriously hurt in A1 crash
GettyA man has been seriously injured in a crash that closed the A1 for more than 10 hours.
Lincolnshire Police said officers were called to the collision involving a Renault Master van and a Volvo lorry on the northbound carriageway at Grantham just before 14:55 BST on Wednesday.
The van driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with injuries described by police as serious.
The northbound carriageway was closed as a result of the collision, and the southbound lanes also had to close to assist with medical treatment and the investigation, the force added.
Police said officers cleared the scene just before 01:00 on Thursday, and left it to highways officials to reopen the road.
The force appealed for witnesses to the collision to get in touch.
