A 22-year-old man has been charged with raping a teenager girl and sexually assaulting another in a city centre park.

Javed Orykhel is accused of attacking the girls in the Portland Square area of Bristol at about 03:30 BST on 20 June.

Afghan national Orykhel, of Bedminster, has been charged with one count of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of possession of a class B drug, Avon and Somerset Police said.

He appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Saturday where he was remanded into custody, and will next appear at Bristol Crown Court on 28 August.
