Orange wind warning issued for Channel Islands
BBCA weather warning for gale force winds has been issued for the Channel Islands.
Jersey Met said on X north west winds with gusts to 45 knots were expected on Thursday across the Channel Islands shipping area.
It said between 07:00 and 12:00 GMT, it would be rather cloudy with a chance of showers at first, as well as sunny periods and gusts up to 45mph (72km/h) throughout the day.
John Searson, principle meteorological officer at Jersey Met, said the bulk of the day would remain dry.
He said westerly winds were strong and "quite gusty".
"Some gusts are expected up to 45mph (72km/h) at first.
"The westerly wind is a little bit stronger than we would all like."
After a lot of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, Searson said the bulk of Thursday would be dry with the odd shower and pockets of sunshine.
