Woman, 78, dies after two-vehicle crash

Police said a woman who was driving a car involved in the crash has died

A woman has died following a road crash which led to a road closure.

States of Jersey Police said officers were called to the crash which involved two vehicles on Route des Genêts in St Brelade at about 14:50 BST on Sunday.

Officers said a 78-year-old woman who was driving one of the vehicles died in hospital and her family were being supported by specialist staff.

A road closure was in place until 20:00 between Mont Sohier and Petite Route des Mielles while the force investigated the crash. A police spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing.
