Four men have been arrested by police investigating allegations of non-recent child sexual abuse in Bradford.

The men, aged between 52 and 72, were arrested at properties in the Bradford and Leeds area on suspicion of rape, conspiracy to rape and sexual assault.

The allegations relate to offences reported to have occurred in the Bradford area between 1992 and 1995 involving one female victim, West Yorkshire Police said.

A spokesperson for the force said the arrested men had all been interviewed and released on conditional bail.

Det Ch Insp Vicky Greenbank said protecting and safeguarding children was a "top priority" for the force.

"This operation forms part of our ongoing commitment to investigate both current and non-recent sexual offences against children.

"Child sexual abuse and exploitation is an abhorrent crime and one which affects some of the most vulnerable people in our society."
